that reads SUCKER!  Yesterday after work DH and I stopped by the local Farmers Market.  We were wandering around and we ran across a vendor who was a long time friend.  We stopped and chatted and two people came up to the booth and they had bassett hounds!!  I have always wanted a bassett hound and have made this known to all my family.  We even have bassett hound Christmas ornaments on our tree!

We got talking and I said I had always wanted one.  Our long time friend says do you really want one.  I said yes.  Well.....she happens to be the local dog catcher.  Two weeks ago someone dropped off a male bassett hound that had been abused and starved to death.  She had already kept the dog a week longer than she was supposed because he was full blooded bassett, but Wednesday she was going to have to put him to sleep.  I went over to her house and Jake is now part of our family.  Our family now consists of three skin kids ages 16, 14 and 10 and 4 rescued retired racing greyhounds, a black lab mix, 4 cats and now Jake!

His tail has not stopped wagging since we walked into the house.  My 16 yo DS helped me give him a bath and we noticed several open wounds that we will doctor.  He could care less about the cats.  He smelled one and said oh, your a stupid cat and walked away.  He loves the other dogs.  Although the other dogs are not yet crazy about him!  I managed to grab a great picture of our Russian Blue cat sitting on a basket of laundry on the washing machine with this look on her face as if she was saying What the h-ll is that?!?!

Jake is a little whiny which I am contributing to just being scared and happy all at once.  We had a good night.  He finally settled down and went to sleep.

And he just adores the kids.  I hated to leave him this morning to come to work!  It will be a long day because I will have something at home waiting for me!

So, if anyone knows how to remove the tattoo from my forehead, please let me know!
