For those who go to the Bariatric center at highland hospital
How many weeks before surgery do they usually schedule Pre-op appointment? What can I expect? Any advise for me before I go?
I am still a bit nervous. Not so much about the surgery, Im more afraid they will cancel it. I spoke to the dietician and she said she has never seen surgeries cancelled over weight gain. But i guess im not going to rest until im being rolled out of surgery.
the pre op is 1-2 weeks prior no biggie they take your vitals ask you a lot of questions do a brief EKG last couple mins they have you sign paperwork and tell what will happen when you arrive for surgery oh yeah and maybe some preop blood work too you should be in and out in less than 45 mins
The longest of Journeys start with a single step
(90 lost pre-surgery)
My pre-op appointment was I think 9 days before my surgery. They did an ekg...some other things. That was also my last weigh-in, so they based all weight-loss progress on my pre-op weight. The nurse that took care of me was very nice.

Did you gain any weight? I am having an issue with weight gain. its been a few months since my consult with my surgeon. I also have some trouble with edema, but i know i cant blame it all on edema, most of I can I am trying hard to lose everything i have gained and it seems like nothing is coming off. I am drinking slim fast shakes. I am so worried that they will cancel it. I talked to the nutricianist and she said she has never seen anyone get cancelled over weight gain after seeing the surgeon, but its till doesnt make me feel any better. i just dont know what to do.
