support group in Syracuse?

Does anyone know of a support group in the syracuse area?  I actually am having my surgery in Rochester.  Dr. Johnson said possibly I could follow up in syracuse though.  That would be nice.  I just got my license, so I havent ventured out too far yet. 

Going to the rochester bariatric clinic can I go to a Syracuse support group, or do I have to to rochesters? 

Hello! I attend a Support Group on Saturday mornings in Syracuse. We meet the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at the Syracuse Alliance Church from 10am-11am. The Church is located on Midland Ave. in Syracuse. I drive down from Fort Drum/Watertown just to attend because I like the group. You are welcome to attend any of the meetings in Syracuse.

When I get home from work I can post the other meeting locations with their dates and times as I have the schedule at home.

There are several support group meeting areas for the CNY Bariatric Surgery Center for Upstate Medical Center in the Syracuse.  If you call their offices they will give you the dates and times, and anyone having surgery(no matter where) is welcome to attend.  The office in Syracuse is 1-866-349-4592, they will be happy to help you with dates and times, or if you know someone who is in their program they could bring you a copy of the calendar.  They have a great support group program there and everyone at all the different locations that I have attended have been very friendly and informative.  Good luck.  Dee

There is also a wonderful group that meets on the first monday of every month at Hazard Branch Library from 6-7.  I really like the people there.

There is one at Community General Hospital that meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 4:30 - 6:30.
