Medifast Question for Ellis patients
Jane,
Sadly no. When I was on the Medifast, I was only allowed water, herbal tea and an occasional broth. (beware watch the salt in the broth) If you need something different, try adding extracts to the shake. I lover peppermint, coconut, almond, raspberry, strawberry etc added to the chocolate flavor. If you want something non liquid, I would add extra ice to the shake and make it thick enough that I could eat it with a spoon. Sort of like Medifast ice cream, Ben & Jerry's does not need to worry about the competition!
Good Luck
Jim

Jane,
Ditto what Jim said!! I was allowed a lean & green meal at dinner time (lean protein & green veggies &/or a salad) but then I was on it for 12 weeks... I obviously had/have a lot of weight to lose.
They will give you what you are allowed at the office!! Be creative with it & use the extracts like Jim mentioned (hmm, wonder where he got that hint from? ). I found too, that the colder it was the easier it was to drink! Don't think about it too much - you'll get through it before you know it!!
Good luck!!!

Thanks Jim and Cece..
I just thought I'd check. I actually don't mind the medifast shakes.. I am however craving King crab legs and cucumbers and something warm.. go figure.. Maybe some broth could help!
Cece :
I had knee surgery last Wednesday..I can't wait to get back to work.. My husband can't wait either.. Tonite I ventured out to a support group. My knee was telling me about a half hour before the meeting was over it was time to go home..
You both are great!!
Oh that's right - you had the double-whammy of knee surgery & starting Medifast!!!! God Bless you!!!! Don't let boredom kick your head hunger into over-drive... find something to do to keep you busy while recovering from the knee surgery... trust me, boredom is/was my worst enemy!! I've had to dig out my needlepoint to keep my fingers busy!!!
Sound slike you are doing pretty well otherwise!! Keep it up!!!
