My Appeal Was Turned Down
thank you for bringing up this issue, Many insurance companies will pay for ONE bariatric surgery. This is why we hope folks make the best choice the first time as they may not get a second time.
(Read alot about the following scenarios: bandsters desireing a RNY (due to wt loss failure or complications), VBGers needing a conversion to RNY (wt regain, severe complications) or to a BPD/DS, RNyers wishing for a band over bypass or more distal revision or a BPD/DS vs RNY due to wt regain/complications...etc)
Please tell me more about the reason you are seeking revision kindly I am not up to date on that.
May want to consider one of these lawyers in your case as I have heard some folks only get so many appeals and no matter what if you exhaust them ther is then no chance...

I am having the same problems for the insurance that I did the first time. All claims for New York City employees have to go through the New York City Healthline, Intracorp. They turn everything down the first and second time. Each time they change the reason it is being denied. I had the same problem with my lapband in 2005. I won when I went for the external appeal.
This time around I am having many complications. I haven't lost any weight for over 7 months with doing all of the right things! On Easter Sunday I started having terrible and constant heartburn. I cannot sleep at night and I am being treated for it. My endoscopy showed severe gastritis. I had to have my gallbladder out at the beginning of May. My upper GI did not show a definate slip but I am miserable night and day. My BMI is over 40. I also have diabetes, arthritis and high blood pressure. There is no reason that I should not win this appeal.In my case it has nothing to do with only one surgery...
