Thank you so much!!! It means a lot to me that people are inspired by what I am going through. It's funny how our stories are different but yet so similar!! I am glad I found this place - I don't know what I would have done without everyone here!!!

Cece,

I am so happy for you.  One year down, since the start of Medifast.  I think that 12 weeks of Medifast and your success so far is such an testament to your dedication and inner strength.  You have done wonderfully and not only are you an inspiration, but you are also such a source of support for other people (Michelle & I are always thankful for how you have been here for us).

I think you have hit upon a big secret for long term success.  We can not give up the foods we loved prior to surgery, we need to find a way to make these foods fit into our new lifestyle.  Shelly/Eggface is very good at this.  Like you said, we don't have to give up the taste of the chicken wings we loved, we just need to think outside the box and come up with a pouch friendly recipe.  I find it interesting that I am eating much less than before surgery, but enjoying my food that much more.

Good luck, keep up the great work and your 1 year surgiversary will be here before you know it.

Jim,
You & Michelle are special people & I am glad to have your support. You both are doing so well!!! You're right about not giving up our favs - there are ways to make healthy versions of them! I have found in the past that if someone told me I couldn't have something then I'd eat more of it regardless of how much I wanted in the first place!! Now I make every bite count & try to enjoy what I am eating so I don't go looking for more to satisfy my head!! It's been working so far!

BTW - the last batch of protein ice cream I made was awesome!!! I found 1 small brownie in the fridge (not sf but low-fat) & added it to the chocolate base along with some chopped fresh cherries & I must say it was the best!!!! I swear it felt like the old days after eating a container of Ben & Jerry's!!!  The best part was it was made from soy milk & protein powder so it was so good for me!!! Next time no brownie (it was a fluke that it was in the fridge) but I believe I will be adding cocoa powder to get that extra chocolatey goodness!!! God bless Shelly for coming up with this base recipe!!! (I hate protein shakes & this comes in handy on days where I could use an extra boost & a treat!!!)

Keep up the great work!!!!
