New York City Area, any one have HIP insurance and have been approved for WLS

I currently have Health Plan of New York (the HIP Prime plan) and am curious as to the process in which you had to go through in order to get an approval for surgery.  How long did this whole process take before you got your surgery date?  Also, do you have any recommedations on doctors or seminars for Gastric Bypass that I could attend?  I am scheduled for a LAP BAND seminar, but I am leaning more towards the Gastric Bypass. 

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I know my surgeon's office Manhattan Minimal Invasive and Baratric Surgery Center accepts HIP they are with Lenox Hill Hospital and in my opinion there are no better surgeons that Dr Roslin and Dr Shaw.

i have hip prime, and dr roslin did my sleeve (vsg).
hip paid for it 100%, and it only took 3 days to get approval.

hip and dr roslin are the BOMB!
