I am almost a full month out now... and tried about 3 tablespoons of scrambled eggs w cheese on them this morning and they set wonderful and tasted so good initially. About 3 hours later... my pouch just didnt settle well with it at all! The one and only other time that food did not agree it actually came back up with the foamies and hiccups. and it was almost right away. This is so different. So Should I believe this is me just not handling eggs well? I even worried and checked the date on them and I just opened them today and they are supposed to good till Sept 8,2008.

Any advice would be wonderful.I hate to call the dr and like jump the gun.. but this isnt how anything else has ever been for me since discharge. Thanks in advance

I had found pouched eggs settled well for me.  I have been told that eggs are difficult to digest for many people.  I have really only had a problem when I did not chew well.  I have found with most foods, if it does not settle well the first time, it may be fine in a week.

How are you feeling otherwise.  I can't believe you are a month out already, it seems like you were just posting that you were going in for surgery.

Wow Jim.. I was feeling absolutly wonderful up to this point. I made them soft and smooth enough and took my time with them. Then the cheese.. ya know I really thought with as easy as it went I would be fine.

It is going to take a bit for me to try them again. I am down by about 30lbs now and feeling ok tonight. I crashed hard after feeling sick though. After it all left my system I finally took in some popsicles and I am having some milk now. I have had vitrually no fluids or protien today due to my bad egg experience. So I am getting what I can tolerate while I am up.

Hubby said I got a flushed look and just didnt look right .. so I think it must have been my 1st "dump" experience. Definately a learning experience!

Like Jim said it can be hit or miss with any foods. I was lucky & eggs didn't bother me but certain melted cheeses, like swiss, is really difficult for me to deal with.

I don't know if you dumped or not but since you said you haven't had much to drink be careful of dehydration. I went through that about a month ago & it isn't pleasant!! I was told to drink gatorade to replenish the electrolytes & stuff - even watered down. I've found that G2 works best for me. (G2 is lower carbs, cals & stuff.) Keep that in mind.

Good luck & congrats on your weight loss so far!! You're doing great!!

I have the same problem with eggs at first....I can eat them now...14 months out...so, don't despair...I have always loved eggs and I am glad I can tolerate them again.  I also find that I have a problem with pasta...it fills me too fast and doesn't "settle".  I do miss it...but, being a reformed "carbo hound"...it might be a good thing.

OMG.. I got to the root of the illness and it was dumping. However it was NOT the eggs!!!

In my special water bottle, I went to wash and refill it, I found remnants of a popsicle wrapper.. ya know those cheap 100 in a box kids frozen pop things. So I pulled out my ice drawer in the freezer and lo and behold one of my younger children had  "absentmindedly" thrown the wrong flavor back into the freezer and got it in the wrong place. So... it went threw the ice crusher!.. Into my water. That was the last thing I remember after the eggs. Sipping some ice water to take my morning pills. It was loaded with sugar from the dang ice pops!

The freeze pops will forever be kept in the chest freezer for the kids to get and put back. That was scary. I couldnt function at all and when I did i just sipped at my water bottle. just putting it right back into my system. We WILL have a sit down and talk about it while me being sick is fresh in their minds when they all get home tonight
