My Revision Turned Down By Insurance Company!

The New York City Healthline has reviewed everything sent in by my doctor's office and have denied me for the revision from lapband to RNY... They insist that they never received six months of doctor supervised weightloss - not true, and also that it is not medically necessary - also not true. I guess I am back to the land of appeals! I also made an appointment with my gastro doctor because I cannot stand this reflux. The first appointment I could get was August 6th - almost a month from now!

Marcia, Don't give up. Many insurance companies "like" to make things difficult for people in the hopes that they will give up trying. Get all you information together and appeal, appeal, appeal! Make sure to always get the name of the person at the insurance company that you spoke with. I am sure your surgeon's office will give you all the help you need. Good luck and keep us informed.
