Alittle confused about medicare/medicaid

I am wondering if there is preauthorization for Medicare.   is there one for medicaid?.  When I called the doctors office in Rochester the woman who answered the phone said that there was one for both and that the paperwork was probably already being submitted. So I am getting confused.  I am trying to find out if I am going to have to pay that Copay.  I am putting money away just in case.  Should I call Medicare and Medicaid to see if anything is submitted?

Most if not all insurance carriers require precert for bariatric surgery... Since you will be inpatient yes, you would need to cover the Medicare deductible. Check your plan but I believe it's $1024 for the inpatient stay and 20% of all dr's fees (which would include the surgeon).

Will Medicaid pick up the deductible?  I think they did when I was in the hospital in April, I know I didnt get a bill.  But I then again, I could get a bill 5 months down the road. Thanks for answering me

That would be a ? best posed to Medicaid. I really don't know if 1 goverment agency would pick up member cost shares after another goverment agency. My expertise is in Commercial Health Insurance.
