WOW - It's humming along!
Wow - when they said I was on the accelerated path - they weren't kidding! I have the first meetings (yes they scheduled them all together to make it convenient) July 28th - 2 weeks away. I figure there might be one or two things they'll want me to do before the surgery (update tests or something unique due to my status). Then it'll be up to the insurance company before scheduling! My primary is 100% behind this. He's been with me the last 3 years and saw the roller-coaster I've been on. He said based on what he's seen, this is the best option for me - he had given up on dieting with me. I WILL keep up on the 1/2 cup of food per meal. Until the Cleveland says stop (which I doubt they will since every pound lost makes me less risky) How risky am I? A surgeon in NYC I talked to said this: The "regular" RNY patient has 0.5 to 2.5% risk of death. I have 5 to 20% risk of death. As you can see those numbers stick with me - because they are important and significant to me understanding my risks.
If anyone cares, the new doctor is Dr. Phillip Schauer.
