Waiting is not fun!

There for a while everything was moving very quickly.. now it seems like everything is at a stand still.   I consider myself to be a very patient person, but this is really bugging me because there doesn't seem to be a reason for the hold up. I've been through everything..   My upper GI was 6/10 and i was under the impression that as soon as the results came in from that.. then everything would be submitted for approval to insurance. 6/13 get a call from hospital saying all clear on the upper GI. 6/16 Call surgeons office and ask if been submitted yet or get an idea when may do so.   Was told in a week. 6/23 Call again to inquire about submittal for insurance, told it's sitting on the doctors desk just waiting for him to sign off on it.   I asked if she thought this would be done soon.   Get a "in a week or two" 7/8  Been over two weeks, so figure will call today.  Once again.   It's still sitting on the Dr.'s desk. What the heck is going on??   Can't he just sign it so they can submit it for insuranace??   I don't understand what we're waiting for. I feel bad that I keep calling about this, I know there is nothing I can do but wait..   but It's just frustrating. :(

I know "jumping through the hoops" is tough...hang in there...it will be all worth it. Rosemary

I found it very hard to have someone else have so much control over your life, as if performing surgery was not enough control already!  I hope you hear something very soon, it must feel like your entire life is on hold until you find out if you are approved.

Just remember everyone here is behind you 100%.

Candi sorry for your delay...I am so lucky I went to Dr Fitzer in Utica I was seening Dr cole In horseheads but with insurance problems (I have MVP) I had to change Drs and things happen for a reason....I meet with Dr fitzer in May June they told me my surgery date was July 14...and got approved only today (my paper work was summited only last night) It seems to me they should give you alittle more info on were they are in the process. I asked back in June they told me straight out he was booking into 2nd week of July,,it was something that gave me hope. Dont feel bad calling because if they are good they will explain it alittle more to you where you stand right now or where you are on their list. I hope all works out for you Michelle

I know you're frustrated, but try to hang in there.  You started this in April, so really it's been about 3 months and I think that's awesome.  Don't know why the file has been on the doc's desk as long as it has, that doesn't make sense.  Your day will be here before you know it.  I'm anxious for mine.  I was told a while ago it'd be this summer.  I've been approved from the insurance company for about 3 weeks now and still have no date.  I called the center a few days ago and the girl at the hospital who does the scheduling is on vacation.  So I probably won't hear anything for at least a week.  It's hard waiting.  I started this whole process in February.  I just try to stay positive and remember that everything does happen for a reason.  Keep us posted on your progress.  Tammy
