Hi !  I am feeling frustrated my insurance company approved my surgery back on June 17th and they received the letter of approval back around the 20th of June I have called once since then to see  if  I have been scheduled and I hadn't been yet.  That was on June 27th.  It seems like I should've heard by now.  Does anyone out there have any email addresses for them since I get a big run around when I call?  And shouldn't I have heard something by now?  How long should I expect to wait.  If you went to syracuse,NY how long did everything take for you?

It takes several weeks (3-4).  You will get a letter from University stating when your pre op appt is and when your surgery will take place. I was told the hospital scheduler WILL NOT respond to clients.  They will send a letter in the mail.

You will need to make an appt for the doc's office for the same day as your pre-op.   I had Dr. Cunningham.  I was approved before Christmas and did not get my letter scheduling until the second week of January.  And it was for May 7 - then in February the date changed to March 17. If you don't hear anything in 2 weeks, call the office and see if they can tell you when your pre op appt has been scheduled.  That will at least tell you when you will be going to the hospital for pre-op and give you a general timeframe as to when surgery will be.

Carrie, Don't worry about it...it will be soon that they will give you a date.  It usually doesn't take too long but your approval obviously came through at a time when vacations at the bariatric center were high.  They don't have alot of people doing the same things and you'll get your date soon, if you haven't already.  If you haven't gotten it yet, why not trying to zip off a quick email to Marcy at [email protected]  Good luck and let me know how you make out.  Hugs, Dee

Hi.  I'm about in the same boat as you.  I received my letter of approval from my insurance company dated 6/23 and haven't heard anything.  So this week I called and found out that the scheduler at the hospital is on vacation.  Maybe next week we will hear something.  Good luck!!

Thanks for the reply and it seems we have close insurance approval dates we should keep in touch and let each other know what happens with each other scheduling.  I very much appreciate you letting me know.  I have never been too much of an anxious person but if this process doesn't  create anxiety I don't know what does.  Thanks again.
