IS IT TOO LATE TO CHANGE MY SURGEON?
Well I can tell you first hand that it is definitely NOT TOO LATE!!!!
I found out June 6th that I was approved for the surgery with my surgeon. When I called them to tell them I got approved they proceeded to tell me that they had stopped taking insurance while I was doing my 6 months supv diet.... Yeah, I was P----d off!!
Well, needless to say off I went to find another office that did. I found out while I was searching for a new doctor, that there are many many great programs out there. Turns out my old doctor had no pre op meeting, no support groups, no post op help at all, nothing!!!! Then I realized that not only with the dr I chose, but many many dr's out there do great programs and offer a tremendous amount of help and guidance.
I would definitely not stick with a surgeon who cannot take the time to even meet with you one on one! That's BS!!!! Not only did my surgeon meet with me twice, he met with my mother and me so she could get information right from him on things that were concerning her....
Long of the short of it is....Look Around, Find a DR who will take the time with you....there are many of them out there. Your insurance company should let you carry everything over from one doctor to another without many problems.... just make sure the dr's you look into, are a part of your insurance plan!!!
Best of luck to you and do what makes you feel right!!!

Just to add what everyone else has said, you should go back to your current surgeon's office and sign a release form so that you can receive a copy of your file with all of your records from them and then you can take this file to your new surgeon (this would save you a tremendous amount of leg work and time). Also, with the release form, your current surgeon's office will be able to fax any other documents to the new surgeon if the need should arise. Best wishes!
Loving me...every day...for the rest of my life!
For me I'd personally say He** No!! Until your under anesthia it's not too late. If your uncomfortable move on to someone else, I saw almost EVERY single WLS doctor in Manhattan and Dr Roslin was my 9th surgeon to see and the instant I met him I knew HE WAS THE ONE. I went to NYC, Mt Siani, St Luke, Harlem Hospital--you name it I went but I was never comfortable until I met Dr Roslin and Dr Shaw and like I said I just knew he was the one and I'm so greatful.
201 pounds lost since surgery!! And I'm 2 1/2 inches taller too!!
And YES I still eat Carbs and Fats but I know what portion control is!!
Surgery Date: 6/5/07

Hi, I spent 10 months doing all of my tests with one surgeon and then he switched hospitals and no longer took my insurance. So I switched to another surgeon. As long as you have all of your records to bring with you it shouldn't be a problem. It wasn't for me. That was almost 4 years ago. But I'm sure as long as you get all of your medical records showing the tests you've had done it will be fine. Good luck!
