Trip For the 4th..

Hello New York.. I am going to be taking a trip to New York this coming weekend for the Macy's Fireworks display and I would like to know the best location to view the fireworks..

I thought about doing the Rosevelt Island thing but wasn't sure.. I would also need some info on how to get from Newark airport area to the city.. 

Would you please help a Fellow OH'er out...Any info would be appreciated..

Pretty much anywhere on the east side of Manhattan is good. Roosevelt Island is a great place to view it I was at Taxi Beach last year and it was fabulous. You should have let us know you were coming in I know some of us would love to meet you your a real inspiration!

First of all thank you for the kind words calling me an inspiration.. I just see myself as Ramon.. No one really special.. I would really have loved to meet you all but this was a spur of the moment trip.. I have always wanted to do this and to be able to do it is working out just right.. I will certainly check out Roosevelt Island.. I think that was a place I was looking but the tickets are sold out..   I wanted to go there but I believe the saying in the country goes if you snooze you lose.. ZZZZ I may try to take a cruise on a boat and see it.. Not sure yet.. I guess I waited too long.. LOL   I really have no plans for Saturday.. I know I want to go back into the city and just hang out.. I am staying in New Jersey.. I have never been to NY and would just love to go see some of the sites.. How about you meet me in Times Square.. LOL.. Just kidding like I would ever find you there..  Please remember to pay it forward..

Ramon you maybe suprised to know its pretty easy to meet someone in Times Square if your up to it I'd love to meet you for a cup of coffee  that is if you have time.

I will actually have to see if my other half has plans.. I know we want to go to the city on Saturday.. How far are you from Times Square if we can meet for coffeee??

I live in Manhattan so I'm about 15 minutes from Times Square. I'd be honored to meet you as I said you are such an inspiration!! And I have to bring my camera, being your the big TV star and all...

Hi Ramon, Teresa sounds like the fireworks expert...I'm not.   We have them @ Jones beach on Long Island and they're pretty cool. I found this like for you http://www.nyctourist.com/travel_newark.htm#Ground%20Transpo rtation -- it lists taxis & public transport.  Hope it helps. The weather is suppose to be nice--but heck even if it isn't it's much better than Texas heat and humidity...LOL
