Dr.Posner in Buffalo, Ny-anyone else

Hi Everyone- Its been a while since I have posted- I just wanted you to now that I recieved my letter and went for a senimar with Dr Posner/Forbes/Hoffman office last week. I am very excited a little nervous - The senimar was full of people- But it was very informational. I can't wait to recieve my letter this week in regards to the next process- I have a lots of health problems so I am not sure how soon I can get all the test done- A friend of mine went for the senimar last month and she went for her appt and she already had her next appt - she is on the fast track--That so cool for her- anyone else going to Dr posner office/forbes or hoffman?

Hello, It's been a while for me too.  I had my surgery with Dr. Forbes on 1/21/08 and it she said it was textbook. I was 308 lbs on my last weigh in and am now at 228.  I had gone to the seminar with my husband in tow.  I got the south Beach diet book and started immediately.  That put me on the fast track too.  I was scheduled for Sept 08, but then I had to be rescheduled because my iron was low.  Although I was frustrated at the time, I was happy with the fact that the team seems to be more rigid with the requirements.  In my case it probably saved my life.   You just need to make sure that your dr. makes the referral out with all of the surgeons name and the comprehensive weight loss center as well so that everything is covered (insurance purposes).  I did the psych eval, blood work, and I also had a sleep study.  I think I also did the food diary for the nutritionist for a while.  My pcp had initially referred me to dr. Posner because he's the best, but I ended up with Forbes who was totally wonderful for me.  My experience was totally positive.  Feel free to ask any questions.  The people on this site have been so helpful to me, I'm sure you'll find it helpful too.

Hi I had my RNY with Dr. Posner on May 8, 2006.  I've been very pleased with my results.  Everyone in the office is very knowledgeable and friendly, and they're more than willing to answer all your questions.

Hi!  I actually went for my seminar last month and was able to get my first initial appointment this month.  I went for all the tests they wanted done, blood work, ultrasound on my legs to make sure I don't have any blood clots, physicatric eval and get a cpap machine because I have sleep apnea also with my many problems.   I go back next month to see Dr. Hoffman with my husband - hopefully he will give me a possible surgery date when I see him!  I'm looking forward to the process.  And everyone in the office is very nice - just make sure you stick to the program!

Your welcome!  I actually just asked my doctor and having been doing alot of research online to see what tests are usually asked or required. 

I would start calling and inquire about setting up your first initial appointment.  You may have to leave a message or two and it may take a while to get in.  Mine was actually scheduled at the end of July and they were able to bump me up sooner because someone cancelled.   I actually just had my physic visit today.   I went through Suburban Psychiatric Associates.  They were closer for me and I was able to get in within 2 weeks!  

Hi i am excited for you that things are going fast for you- I called and they said that they will have appt made thif week for the june senimar- So they just asked  me if i wanted 9 10 or 11 am of course I picked 11am-- I actaully had a pyshe eval a few years ago for a different type of surergy but I dont emember where I went as i would like to go there again- So where is Surburban Pshy? When are hoping to have the surgery? Are you going for lap or Rny? My friend has already been to her intial appt and her next and then she has one in 2 weeks and I think she will have surgery soon as she is on the fast track- as for me I am thinking ---who know when-lol Good luck- keep me posted-
