Pre-op

I am scheduled for surgery on June 27th.  No one has mentioned it, but do you have to take all the "clean out" stuff the night before surgery like you would have to do for a colonoscopy?  I am having my surgery done laproscopically and have started my two-week pre-op liver shrinking diet of protein shakes and applesauce and yougart.  So far so good. My dr went over all of that with me during my pre-op meeting. I am scheduled for june 18th and had to have my preop bloodwork and last visit with him last thursday. He gave me the script I would need for an antibiotic and told me his protocol.

Hi Dawn and welcome to the NY Forum! Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. Each surgeon is different, so you should check with yours about pre-op prep. My doctor only required clear liquids the day before surgery. Good luck and keep us informed as the big day approaches. Hugs, Lisa
