On the road to recovery

Thank you everyone for the kind words of encouragement and support as I faced my latest surgery. I know my sister (Karen I) posted an update when I got out of surgery. As you might know, I had 2 internal hernias - 1 large, and 1 small. My surgeon was hoping to only have to make 3 incisions in my stomach, but unfortunately had to open 4 in order to properly repair the large hernia. He also found multiple adhesions and removed them as well. I was discharged home the same day with a large bottle of Percocet. Thankfully, each day I feel a little better, however, I was in more pain then I expected to be in. Let's all hope and pray that this is the last complication I have. Even with all the problems, I would do the WLS again in a NY minute. I have no regrets whatsoever!! Hugs, Lisa

So glad to hear your home....although it seems so crazy they do these surgeries and kick you out the same day....recovering at home is so much nicer, quieter and safer in my opinion.  I know your great sister is helping you and thats a good thing.  My thoughts and prayers are wtih you for a speedy recovery..

Hi Lisa!
I'm glad to hear you made it through in one piece and are on the mend. Ahh, the little bumps in the road make life interesting. I also hope that Karen is feeling better. The last we heard from her she was having some pretty severe GI symptoms and then we didn't hear anything more. Hugs to you and her alike.

Heal well,
Amy
