** WARNING: May Be TMI for some of you **
Hi Everyone,
OK the question first, then the ICKY details:
Question: Should I double-up on my vitamins while this is going on? I fear becoming deficient since everything exits me almost instantly.
I have an issue going on. WARNING: Leave this topic now if you get grossed out easily. Ok...I have had "the runs" for about 5 days now. Endless runs. It's not even solid....it's like water pouring from me. Sort of like peeing out "the other end". No matter what I eat or drink....it exits. My weight is at an all-time low...and I've been eating high-caloric foods. I've been popping Immodium daily. I'm going to see my PCP on Thursday but I am very worried. I went from someone who could never 'go' without medication to someone who uses a whole role of Scott tissue per day!! I know that I am very, very fat-sensitive (since my surgery I have been and that's never changed) but now I'm "running" from anything and everything. I don't feel too terrific in general either, probably due to dehydration. HELP!!! Hugs, Karen

Call your surgeon right away Karen. There is a stomach virus going around, but as a WLS patient, any GI symptoms, especially to the extent you are having them should be reported immediately. Call the office today and get the on call doc to call you back. Please let us know how things are going.
Now go call.

If I were you I'd call my gastroenterologist and see him/her ASAP! You need stool cultures done to make sure you have no bacteria or parasites going on in your intestines. Also PLEASE try and stay hydrated. It's so easy to get dehydrated with extremely watery stools!

You have had great advice
Get to a health care provider, labs, some fluids IV perhaps and maybe even an ER, this is not typical or expected so finding cause is imperative.
Keep us posted, worry about a low potassium which can cause heart issues!
