Tofu
my list of foods that i can eat in phase 2 of post op has tofu on it. I have never had tofu
and i know it assumes the flavor of what you mix it with. I am intrigued enough to try it at least
once but was wondering if anyone eats it on a regular basis and if you could give me ideas what to mix it with to make it tasty? Any help appreciated

I love tofu. I actually like the noysoya extra firm kind the best. I eat it cold mostly . Just cut it up like peieces of meat and go for it. I have used it with my tomato sauce that i use for pasta. I also order it from the chineese food resturaunt steamed tofu with borocoli with sauce on the side ....then i ijust dip very little on it...but that can come later for you. You can also mix it in a stir fry...but again my favorite way to eat it is cold right out of the fridge..

Alot of stores have already prepared tofu items. I love the tofu crumbles in place of ground beef. I got Penzy's spices (breakfast sausagebrats, bratwurst sausage, lamb seasoning) and added it to the tofu crumbles. Penzy's are available through their catalog or online. You can get the firm kind and add it cut up to soups. Bake it with barbeque sauce. The tofu pepperoni and bologna are really good. Pulse the firm until it looks like ricotta cheese and add some Splenda, vanilla and cinnamon. Delicious. Or add pumpkin puree, splenda, vanilla, pumpkin pie spice and pulse it together. Then fold in low fat cool whip - great pumpkin pie mousse!
