... I joined Curves tonight!!! I figure it's time to get my butt moving more than walking!! I need to tone up the muscles I can know feel!! I don't know who's more excited me or the woman who helped me sign up tonight!! She is looking forward to seeing the transformation as much as I am!! So she took all of my measurements & weight & did a body fat analysis!! Pretty intersting to see just how far I've come in 7 months... yup, 7 months as of yesterday!! (how'd that happen?!!) I logged all of the info she gave me into my blog so I can keep track of everything! Her measurements are a little different than what my sister was doing for me but now they will  be done every month! I am going to use their scale too... I already shoved mine back in the linen closet!! I figure once a month is good!! Anyway - I have my first appt Tuesday night since they are closed for the holiday weekend!!! I am stoked!!! Everyone have a great weekend!! I am going to be confined to my garage for part of the weekend prepping for the upcoming garage sale!!! I refuse to lose the whole weekend to work dammit!!  I will have next weekend to tie up loose ends!! Enjoy your holiday & don't forget to thank a soldier!! Cece

Thanks!! I'd like to say it was all part of my "strategy" but truth be told it was laziness & the winter that contributed to me waiting to join!! (My car sucks in the snow & we seemed to have snow every flippin' week last winter! But I did walk every day where I work so at least I got something in!!) I hope all is progressing nicely in you ps recovery!!! You'll be out struttin' your new bod in no time!!!  Cece

Go Cece girl! I think that exercising regularly is the single most important factor in success with weight management. I am so glad to hear that you found something fun to do. I do all kinds of different physical activities, to keep it interesting, but the one regular thing I do is walk. Keeps me sane.

I am very psyched to hear that you are beating the path!!

Go, go, go!!!

Hugs,
Amy

PS: Your user name, Phatty, is a thing of the past...maybe another name some time soon?

Thanks Amy!! I am thrilled to be finally getting off my lazy butt & do something more than the walking!! I am not allowing the use of any more excuses... those days are over!! I will be there 3 days a week no matter what!!! (4 if I can get moving on Sat mornings! ) My sister said that PHAT means Pretty Hot And Tempting... that's why we picked Phatty - kinda has a double meaning!!  I think at some point I will change it to just my name but for right now I'll stick with that!!! ...maybe when I finally get a decent pic??? It'll be kind of like a "coming out"!!! Cece

Thanks Rosemary!!! This particular Curves has really spruced things up since the last time I went & they added more machines... they have all of them now!! I know at some point I might want to do more but for now this is a good, safe place to start!! Nobody judges anyone there & I like that!!! There is a huge Planet Fitness, brand new, by me but it's filled with teenagers & 20-somethings & well, as a forty-something it's not my comfort zone!! Maybe someday!!! If I want to use an elliptical, which I will someday, my apt complex has a couple in their work-out room & since it's free I will be taking advantage of that soon too!!! I think we all do a great job at keeping each other motivated here!!! I do like coming to this board more often than say the main board!! There are a lot of great people over there but too much drama at times... that sucks the energy out of me!!! It's hard to stay motivated amid all of the fighting!! Enjoy your weekend!! Cece

Cece,

I am so happy that you are making this change in your life.  I jus joined the Y a little over a week ago and I feel so good about myself now that I am exercising.  I hope that you feel the same way.  It amazes me how much easier the workout is now that I have been doing it for a week.

I think that it is setting goals for ourselves and meeting them, that make this journey so wonderful!
