Endoscopy
I have had 14 Upper Endoscopies or Gastroctopies (depending on who you have, they call it different thingsin the last 3 years. You have NOTHING to worry about. The WORST you'll have is a scratchy throat.
They put an IV in your arm (usually right) and hang fluid. They wheel you in, have you roll on your left side. Depending on hospital/clinic, they may or may not put the bite block in your mouth (foam thing that keeps your mouth open - only goes on front teeth.
They will then put in the "night night" juice - you'll be out in 2 minutes or less
If they didn't put the bite block in earlier, they do it now.
They spray numbing agent in your throat, and send the scope down.
After the Night night juice, then next thing you'll know if they are waking you up.
You'll be alert, but maybe "foggy" or just aware you're not as alert/reactive as you normally are - hence the required ride home.
Trust me - When you get home, you'll be thinking - I was worried about THAT? LOL
