As many know I have been home recovering from breast surgery so I have had time to try to catch up on posts and meet alot of newbies here which has been great.  So many new faces and new people starting out on this journey.  Congrats to you all and so nice to meet you.... I am now looking for old faces.  Dont see to many.....How is the old gang doing.  I had my surgery October 31 2005.  I met so many great people who helped me early out.  Just wondering how you are all doing.  If you have a chance pop in and say hello would love to hear from you and see how your doing...... As for me i am doing great.  I have maintained my weight loss give or take 5 pounds up and down depending on the week.   I had my tt done Jan 06 and my breast reduction and lift a week ago today...I am feeling good, sore and tired but ok....I have been blessed with this surgery it has been good to  me.  I am a new person and learning every day to like that person more...its a tough journey, takes us more time to see the differences thent he outside world.  I have to say I would never change a thing.  From begining to end its has all been worth it.  Every puke, every foamie, every scan all that this journey entails has been worth it.  I have a life again.  I wish luck to all just starting out and love to all my old friends....xoxoxo LisaMarie  :-)

I'm not necessarily an oldie, but I've been around awhile. You were one of the first people I met when I got here and I was always grateful for your encouragement and friendly words.

I'm 9.5 months post op and I'm down 90 lbs. Only 17 lbs. to go to reach my goal of 150. I'll reassess then if I need to lose more than that.

I feel fantastic, although I don't see the weight loss in myself. I'm always shocked when I can wear a size 12. I just figure it's cut really, really big and I'm not really that small. I'm the lowest weight I've ever been in my adult life, I'm able to do things and not feel like an old lady, and I just got off of my hbp meds...that's a big deal for me since I have heart disease.

Hey sweet thing,
I've been wondering how you've been doing. Glad to know you're recuping well. I am doing much better these days than I have been all year. I just recently started reconnecting with an old flame and it has done wonders for my head and heart. I finished up my second semester of the graduate degree and am taking the summer off to chill and hang out with my kids. I initially took off 130 pounds, but regained 10 and am just starting to try to take that off. Hard year.

I love the warm long days, I look back on this long cold winter and shudder but realize that it was all worth it, albeit a real trial.

Big hugs to you,
Aim

Hello Lisa Marie:
So glad to hear from you; wishing you a uneventful and speedy recovery.

Sometimes I feel so YOUNG and NEW to WLS and at some times I feel so OLD and EXPERIENCED in WLS! LOL funny how we can turn that around so quickly!

I agree so many fall off the boards as life speeds up and becomes a life more worth living, but also when the shame of regain and the emotional challenges surface many return to their isolation and IMHO suffer needlessly alone!

How life changes from 1-3 months 3-6 months, 6-9 months, 1 year, 18 months, 2 yrs, 3 years..Years 4-5 Yikes and beyond. What was my truth is not necessarily my truth today....I thought I had it licked (my wt issue LOL), I didn't hit the 2 or 3 year wall but I did at 4-5+ years!!!

I no longer longer hold the regain as a fear ...I have gone throught it, come out the other side of acceptance and EMBRACED it... for me it is about a beautiful journey of recovery and hope..an experience worth getting up each day for all my humanness and for where I am at today. I could not of said that 1-2 years ago.

I hope more oldies stick around to share their challenges and in that offering strength and hope and support to themselves and others on this journey! Paying it forward is a blessing I have been given to share! Just like those before me!
Hugs
