 Does anyone have   Dr. Vishnudas Panemanglore as a doctor ? He is from Schentady?

He was fantastic, I have had no complications or problems. One thing I liked is that he is the only one I have seen since the surgery for post op appointments he is very maticulous. All the doctors in the groups are great in that office.

Hi Michelle,      My name is Terryand Ive been seeing Dr.P and I was going with the bypass and thenI had talked to a women who had the lap band and what she had said to me  it sounded good so i changed my mind to the lap band.well i had to make another app.with Dr p and tell him i changed my mind . well i began to tell him and he said to me why i told him that i did some research he wanted to know what research and i told him about the lady that had the lap band done and he said that is noyt research thats gossip. he was getting annoyed with me and said he wanted me to do more real research . and gave me some web sites. he crossed my bill out ansd said to me iam going to act like i didnt see you today.but in the end he did charge me . he acted as though he didnt believe in the lap band . but said he would do it.. iam going to a support group this wed to see if i can get any more information on what to do.  what do you think? let me know Terry

In all my appointments with Dr. P he has always taken time to listen and gives honest answers, they may not always be what you want to hear, but that is true with most doctors.   I know for a fact he has done lapbands.  Remember the surgery is only a tool, it is up to you to make it work, all about your choices.   And he is correct that is gossip do research go to the lapband forum on this site or lapband.com, when you go to the support group go with an open mind and not to be there to belittle the doctor.   Often times doctors can get a bad name by nothing more than pure gossip.   Think this through and I assure you he is a wonderful doctor.   And as for charging you, that was probably the front office that made that decision. Whatever you decide to do, do it for the right reason for YOU, not because this one did this or that one did that.    Good luck

 I want to thank you for writing me back . i will go to the group with an open mind. I am just trying to do whats right for me . maybe i took him the wrong way. iam right now leaning towards the band  but still doing some research(not gossip). but i thank you . right iam having trouble with the shakes i do good for about 2 days then i give up.  i will keep trying.      thank you ,    Terry

Are you on the Medifast? I was on it for 5 weeks, and looked forward to the lean and green meal at night that is for sure.

He is correct, it isnt research, it is one persons story.  EVERYONE has different experiences.  I have 4 friends who have the band, 2 love it...and 2 HATE it.  They have lost almost 1/2 less than the other two and they are always still hungry...where the first 2 are never.  It is all so personal.  I was going to have the band untill I went to the seminar, and a support group.  I NEED to have dumping cause I am a sweets girl...well not anymore.  So before making your final decision, really do the research.  Dr P is soooooo good... he probably thought you may not have researched both enough, if you changed your mind after one persons story... he just wants to make sure you know what your getting into, and you understand both procedures before going ahead.  Good luck in your decision...it really is a hard one.  I had my surgery in that office on 4/8 with Dr Clarke and have NEVER seen him since, I always get his PA.  Let us know what you decide.  Good luck!

Krsity is right - it is a very personal choice - do a lot of research on here & other sites & take peoples' experiences with a grain of salt but do use them a little to factor into your decision!!  I met Dr P when he first joined the practice & he was very nice to me!! We passed each other in the hallway & I was surprised that he went out of his way to say hello... most drs don't... although Dr Lirio did too so I guess that practice is an exception to the rule!! I am in the same boat as Kristy in the fact that Dr Clarke did my surgery & once I was discharged I haven't seen him again!!! I know he's extremely busy (I think he "runs" the joint now that Dr Lirio is gone) & I guess I should count my blessings cus I was told I'd be seeing him if there were any complications!! I figure one of these days I'll run into him again - it would be nice to be able to thank him for giving me my life back!! So count your blessings with Dr P - he sounds like a great dr!!!
