another albany questions

which surgeries does the albany bariatric do?  I know the do the lap and rny.  do they do ds or sleeve.  thanks

Yes...I believe they do DS.....but I am not too sure about the sleeve.

When I went for my initial consultation I was told they do the lap band, rny and the sleeve.

I don't know about the VSG, but I know for certain that neither AMC or Ellis does the DS... AMC was the first place I called at the suggestion of my PCP when I asked her if she knew of any locals doing the DS... she said to try AMC.  I called, left a message on their voice mail and received a call back stating they do not do the DS. same result when I tried the Ellis group. for DS, your options are: Dr. O'Malley (and possibly his partners, not sure) in Rochester Dr Hill at Adirondack Med Ctr in Saranac and a handful of groups down in NYC. I wrote off O'Malley solely because of distance.  My choices were between Saranac and NYC.  Saranac is a LITTLE closer to me (and a MUCH more pleasant drive) but I chose a group in NYC primarily due to my own paranoia.  I thought "what if" a complication arose that the hospital (staff or equipment-wise) couldn't handle... my option would be a helicopter or ambulance ride to wherever could handle it.... OR, NYC where they're USUALLY better equipped, and if nothing else, there are hospitals and doctors all over... should something have gone wrong, they almost could have wheeled me on a gurney to a different hospital. I'm very happy with my experience at Lenox Hill and my surgeon and his group.  I would definitely do it again. Good luck
