Lap Band Support Groups in Central NY

I had my surgery at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.  They are really just starting the lap bands and they have no support groups specifically aimed at lap-band.  Does anyone know of any lap band support groups in the general area (within 100 miles of Syracuse)?  Thanks.

There is one in Ithaca, NY...my problem is that it meets at like 5:30...and there's no way I'd make it to Ithaca by 5:30 after getting out of work at 5:00.

Braven - are you going to any support groups that are just lap-band?  i know you are in Syracuse too.  I'm hoping we can start a support group here specifically geared toward lap-bands.  I'm thinking of taking a field trip down to Ithaca to see how it's run.

The lap-band support group in Ithaca meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month at 6:00 PM. We meet at Cayuga Medical Center, 2nd floor in the Bonnie Howell Education Rooms. The meetings last until 8:00 PM but we don't get upset if people arrive a bit late or have to leave early. If you want more information get in touch with me. Question...the fourth Monday this month is Memorial Day...will the group still be meeting that day or not because of the holiday?  Thanks!

Ithaca is about 70 minutes from here, but I'm interested in knowing how a lap band support group is run and how it's different from the ones that are combined (but basically just RNY).  I'll PM you for more info!
