Any exciting summer vacations plan you'd like to share?

We will be spending a week with my family (parents, and my two sisters family at Lake George.  The boys may will probably spend and extra week at the camp.

Maryellen,

Thank you for posting this.  I think the more we actively consider these issues, the more successful we will be in the long run.  I am much more conscious of the food choices I am making since I have had my surgery.  Other than taste, what does this food offer me (i.e. Protein, fiber, vitamins).

Cece,

I also love going to the fairs around here. It is such a fun day to spend with the family.

Jim, You are very welcome!  Being accountable for our actions helps us understand the this journey...not to mention get some new ideas to share with our buddies here on OH!  I hope to meet you and the Mrs. one day.  I'll be taking my younger daughter to see some colleges out by you in the Fall.....maybe we can meet for coffee and or dinner at that time? Remember, support and accountability are the keys to our continued success!

1. What types of food did you eat last week?    scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, refried beans, ricotta bake 2. What types of exercise did you do last week?      Walking (plan on adding bike riding soon) 3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss?     weighed at my post op for a total of 18 since surgery and 50 total. 4. What was your biggest challenge?      Absolutely getting the fluids in. 5. What's your most reliable post-op food, the one that never makes you sick?      so far everything listed above has been successful.  the only problem is being mindful as to the speed of eating.  my pouch is finally waking up and noticing things like that and last night informed me that I drink too fast.  WOW not pleasant!!!! *Fun bonus question: Any exciting summer vacations plan you'd like to share?  Every year we spend the last full week in Ocean City, MD.  We rent a cottage on the beach that sleeps 12 my kids and grand kids can come but usually there's an average of 5 or 6 of us there, we like the extra room.  My in-laws (MIL, FIL, BIL, SIL, nephews, aunt and uncle all rent cottages). It's a great time to relax.  Normally Happy Hour is a big part of the day, this year I will be drinking frozen Crystal Light  which is just as refreshing!!! (My hubby can't drink anymore either due to a heart condition so we'll both be enjoying our healthier life styles).  I'm sure I'll be having a lot more fun with the extra energy.  Plan on spending a lot more time at the water and amusement parks!!!   During the remainder of the summer we may even take a trip to the Great Escape with the grandson this summer too.  We plan on spending more time exploring hiking trails and bike trails over the summer (with the grandson).  During the adult time we'll enjoy riding the motorcycles and enjoying the beautiful scenary we have here in Upstate NY. Dominique ps - Maryellen I lived in Sayville as a child and it has some of my fondest childhood memories.  I've never met anyone from there since.  (It was a very long time ago!)  I remember my old address, neighbor hood and Billy Blake's store. LOL like I said a LONG time ago!

Hiya Dominique...if you are ever in the area...let me know...I'd love to meet you and Sayville is still a wonderful place to live.  Many locals have been here for many generations.   I have only been here for the last 8 years.
