Am I full of it....or....am I?

Is it normal to not have a BM in 3 days...especially if you haven't ate any thing solid??

It can be, do you have constipation type pain? Usually manyhave liquid in and liquid out (Diarrhea). Are you passing gas? If still ongoing next week may decide to call surgeon to ask!

I dont have any of that kind of pain....I did pass gas this morning....maybe I am! They didn't give me stool softener.....I see him on Tues.

Tim it took me 2-3 days before i could get anything out just had my surgery on 4-25 then when it came it wasnt much, but then you'll be eating a lot less 

Consider yourself lucky! I had diarrhea the minute I got out of surgery and for weeks after. It was difficult because it was almost impossible to "take care of things" (to quote you). Just don't let it go for too long and definitely check with your surgeon. Good luck. Lisa

I was constipated from the anest. and the pain meds; didn't go for a week.  Do yourself a favor, take stool softeners & ask the doc what laxative might be appropriate.  I had to take Mirilax before anything happened.   Take care, Tim.

Hi Tim, I went 5 days before I had my first BM, and then the diarrhea started for about two weeks... now I have 1 BM a day if I am lucky.  My mom has trouble with constipation, she takes her benefiber, and a glycerin suppository.  Good luck!!
