Hello everyone,

I just wanted you to know that Michelle came home from the hospital this afternoon. She is having a little bit of pain and is taking the Lortab for it, which is kicking her butt and making her sleepy. She is doing the sip, walk, sleep and pee routine right now. Her belly is a little swollen from all the IV fluid and the surgery, I think she will feel a lot better when she gets rid of this extra fluid.

She is so happy to be out of the hospital, took a short walk out side, I think she had a little cabin fever. Also her room mate was driving her crazy, because she was noisy, up most of the night with visitors until after 1 am both nights and just mean and nasty to the nurses. She had some sort of abdominal, but not weight loss surgery, she did not walk and as we left they were working her up for a blood clot in her leg. (Just goes to prove how important it is to walk after surgery and to wear the compression stockings). I am sure now that she's home, I will be driving her crazy soon!

It feels so good to have her home again and I am sure she will be herself within a couple of days. Thanks for all of your positive thoughts and prayer, it has meant so much for both of us.

Jim

Jim, Glad that Michelle is home and doing well!   She will certainly sleep well tonight I am sure.  I took the pain meds when I got home and yup they do make you sleepy, but rest is so important.   (as you know).  Yes she will feel better after getting rid of the extra fluid.    Like I said glad she is home and doing well. Have a goodnight...

I am so glad she got to come home today. That really sucks about her roommate. I must say that I was pretty lucky & had a private room! I was told they do that for all gastric bypass patients but apparently not anymore. I don't know what changed but for once timing was on my side!! Tell Michelle hi & congrats!! Keep up the great work & you guys have a good night!! Cece

The unit was completely full, so I wonder if there was not a private room available, because I did have a private room.  At least she is at home now at all that is a thing of the past.

Hi Jim, Thanks for the update on Michelle!  Remind her that walking and sipping water should be her best friends right now. Regards, xoxoxxoxxoxoxo
