What should I buy for my liquid post-op meals?

I am going to have my surgery on May 12th.  I know a lot of people post this but didn't pay attention until now that it is my turn on the table.  What should I buy for my meals (sips) after my glorious operation?  This is what I have so far - Isopure (3 flavors), 100% Whey Protein drink mix (1-chocolate flavor, 1-cookies & cream flavor), sugar free popsicles, Fruit 2 O.  I will be getting some broth to sip also.  Can anyone think of anything else I should buy?  If you have any suggestions that you might think help me, I would really appreciate it.  Thanks so much!

For my protein drinks I bought mostly carnation instant breakfast with NO SUGAR ADDED and mixed it with skim milk and then added a quarter cup of non-fat dry milk to the mix.  It gives you as much if not more protein than other protein drinks and I found that it tasted real good.  I started drinking it before my surgery to make sure that I liked it.  I also drank special K protein water and diet crystal light drinks.  Good luck. I have a couple of  friends that are a few months out.   They both swear by this stuff called  Whey Protein Isolate under the brand name of NOW.  It comes totally unflavored and has 25 grams of protein per serving.. which can be put into literally anything..  From broths, to slim milk to Diet snapple and they say you can't taste it at all.  It can be found online for about 12.00 for a 1lb container. This is especially good for people that have a hard time with the taste of the normal protein shakes.

Thanks for writing Candi.  I am going to check this out also.  Do you know where they purchased it?  That is a lot of protein.  I am so afraid of losing my hair so I think this would be a good protein supplement to have.  Thanks again!    Debbi

Hi Debbie and congrats in advance! Your taste buds will change frequently after surgery, therefore, you should purchase sample size protein drinks for the first few months.  You can order them at bariatriceating.com I feel that is your best bet so you won't be stuck with a huge container of something that may make you feel yucky!  And remember, if something tastes or feels yucky....try try try again after a few weeks, it will change.

Hey, Ken!!!  Good to hear from you.  I see that you put stuff on your blog!   First of all I want to wish you the best of luck for a pain free surgery, no gas, and a full and easy recovery!  Let me know how you did.  I'll be thinking about you.  Let me know if they tell you anything that we haven't heard already from the visit we have already been to.  I'm going to write you a note on your blog. Watch for it.   Debbi
