Hi,well I'm kind of new to the group.Let me explain my husband Jim has been writing for awhile now and I have been enjoying the support through him.Now that I am less than 2 weeks till my surg.and have spent almost six weeks on medifast .I have now decided to join in the fun. What a journey it has been so far.I can say the positive experiences have out weighed (LOL) the negative.I am so happy to be feeling well and have so much more energy since I have dropped 35 lbs.I am now walking  2 miles a day and feel good while doing it..That was out of the question before I started the Medifast and lost weight. One week ago Jim went through his bypass surg and food would have been my best friend instead I surrounded myself with family and felt so much better.I so enjoy seeing the changes in myself and Jim and my kids are now eating healthier, that is the best gift of all.Looking forward to hearing from all of you soon. All of your stories have inspired me and help me keep going during those tough times.Michelle

Michelle -- Welcome to the NY Board.  And congratulations to you and your husband for making this life-changing decision.  Is your husband JDM511?   Also, congratulations on doing so well on your Medifast.  That is fantastic!  It does make moving and getting your daily things done a lot easier, doesn't it?  Wait until after your surgery, there will be no stopping you!!!   I am still new to the post-op game.  Tuesday I will be 4 weeks out.  My surgeon allows a fairly quick progression through the stages of food (clear liquids, full liquids, puree, soft, etc.)  I am now on "regular" foods, trying new things fairly often.  So far, no problems.  I have even begun to dine out on occasion, which was a very frequent thing for me before.  I was worried that it wouldn't be fun for me anymore since I wouldn't  be able to consume the quantities I had been used to.  I am happy to say I do still enjoy it.  I concentrate on the company with whom I'm dining, and I eat a small amount and  go really slowly. Wishing you and your husband all the best -- Maria

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to add a couple of things to Michelle's post, since she will not say who wonderful she has been to me during my journey through WLS.  She has been so supportive of me and I feel she will be the reason I will have long term success with meeting my goal for long term weight loss.

She forgot to mention that the reason she will be on Medifast for 7 weeks, is that she decided to start Medifast with me, instead of waiting 3 more weeks to start her 4 weeks of Medifast.  What does that tell you about how supportive she has been towards me.

Michelle has set her mind to succeeding in loosing her extra weight. I am sure she will achieve this goal, since when she sets her mind to something, it will come into fruition.

Michelle is also a wonderful wife and my life has been enriched since I have known her.  She is also a wonder mother to of two boys and has created a wonderful home for our family.  She is such a wonderful person and that is one of the main motivation for my choosing to have surgery.  I want to grow old with her and without making this choice I would never be able to enjoy my older years with her.

Jim
