Dr. Singh's patients.. post op diet
I was on clear liquids for the first week, then to full liquids for a week and then went to soft/pureed food for another 2 weeks or so. I tthen slowly introduced new foods. There is a packet that you are given in the hospital that is very informative and it includes the schedule for food. Good Luck Crystal
It will be based on typical and you as an individual, this is one of those opportunities to experience letting go (meaning no planning or control!)
Typical is liquids 2 wk then soft foods 2 wk, individual needs vary some eat sooner due to weakness or other medical needs, myself I had a re-operation to correct adhesions at 4 wk out that closed off my intestines I was on liquids another 2 wk after that...Some have fod intolerances and stay on liquids/softs longer than others who can progress sooner.. no one-size-fits all answer though!
It is challenging for many who want to know and plan and do, I feel the best thing is to experience the journey as open minded and although educated and informed with a sense of going with what comes each day! Be well! Hugs Life unfolds as it is supposed to, I learn not as I wish/hope/or try to plan for it! LOL!
