Yesterday's MS Walk (walking with MaryS)
This year is my 2nd year of walkathons and my son, my walking partner, is doing a college visit this weekend. So a few weeks ago, I posted on here looking for someone who might be interested in doing the MS walk with me. I was very happy that MaryS posted that she was interested. We tried to meet up before the walk itself, but schedules did not permit, so we met for the first time yesterday and did the MS walk.
For anyone familiar with this board, Mary had WLS 3+ years ago and is very active, in fact, she ran the NY marathon last year.
I told her that my concern was that the walk would be too slow for her, but she graciously came along and did the walk with me anyway. Despite the weather being a bit nippy here and there, I had a great time. We compared notes on many subjects from WLS, and plastic surgery, to family and various and sundry other topics. Last year, my son and I did the 6 mile part of the walk. We signed up for the 10 mile this year. Well, we did the 10 mile, just not in the order that it was laid out. We got a bit confused with the signs, but we definitely did the 10 miles, from the Seaport, over the Brooklyn Bridge and back, on the Battery place and back to the seaport again.
Mary is such a nice lady, very warm, funny and great to walk with!
And now I am off to go pick up my other walking partner from college!
Hope everyone has a great day
Sue
PS - Thank you again, Mary!
