Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for the positive thoughts directed towards me on Thursday for my surgery.  The only hitch I experienced was that Dr. Clarke had an emergency in the morning, so my 1200 surgery did not start until 3pm.

The staff at Ellis were all wonderful to me from the people who admitted me pre-op, to the people who cared for me on A3.  I think anyone who will be having surgery will be very happy with the experience.

I had much less pain than I expected and really felt much better, stronger and more like myself that I expected when I had thought about my post op recovery.  The most amazing thing for me was when I got to see how tiny my stomach is now when I did the upper GI on Friday.  It didn't look much bigger than a quarter!

I want to say to everyone here that you have all had such a positive effect on my experience and I don't think me experience would have been as positive without all your support.  I am so glad that you all told me to bring chap stick, tea bags, crystal light with me.

A very greatful Jim

Jim, I am so happy to hear that everything went well with your surgery. I am sure that you are happy to be home. Now that y ou are home, don't forget to keep sipping water. It's important to make sure you keep your fluid intake up after surgery. Keep us informed of your progress, and welcome to the loser's bench! Hugs, Lisa

Hi Jim,

I am glad everything went well (except for the delay), I agree the staff at Ellis was very good and I was pleased with the care

Each day gets a little easier, rest, sip and walk - do not overdo and enjoy your time to rest and relax.

Take care

Aww, man - you got to see your pouch?!! I'm jealous!! I would have loved to have seen the size of mine!!!  Congrats on coming through with flying colors!!! Dr Clarke is one busy boy!! My first follow up was supposed to be with him & I wound up seeing Evelyn (he had an emergency that day too!! The nerve of that patient!! ) That must've been tough having to wait those extra hours!!! Kudos to you!!!  I agree with you on the care recieved at Ellis - I had great care while I was there & that definitely made it easier!!! Some days it felt like there was too much care, if you know what I mean!! LOL Keep up the great work!!!  Cece
