I don't think any more than 15 or 20 minutes, but they generally make you bring a driver so they can release you.

When I went 5 1/2 years ago, I had to have a driver and someone who could be with me for 24 hours after. I was probably ok a few hrs after, but plan a liesurely day in case! you are worth it afterall!

I had my endoscopy this past Wednsday 4/9,  It didn't take long. I remember everything from the time I woke up.  I had to have someone drive me home and I was instructed to not drive or operate equipment for 24 hours.  I felt fine all day but enjoyed the chance to have a relaxing day.  I used the time to shop for some protein and supplements. Good luck. Dominique

The only reason I ask is because I am going to officiate a funeral at 2 on Tues... the endoscopy is scheduled for 830AM......

I had my endoscopy done at noon and met with the Nutritionist at 2 - if you can officiate without driving it would be best, but I am sure you will be just fine.

Tim,

Everyone is different, so it is hard to say how you will feel.  When I had mine, I woke up quickly and was home about 30 minutes later.  I felt wide awake all afternoon long and then when I went to be I slept real well that night, obviously the medications were still in my system and I ended up sleeping much later that I can usually sleep in on a Sat.

Please do not drive to the funeral and maybe have a backup if you do not feel up to it.

Best of luck

Hi Tim, Everyone reacts differently--I've had endoscopies where i feel like going to work afterwards and some where I go gome and sleep the rest of the day.   As long as you have someone drive you home from the procedure (it's required anyway) and have someone drive you to the funeral, you should be fine.  I would definately write down your remarks--just in case you're a little loopy, you don't want to go off on some tangent about the dearly departed.

take care.
