Im going to begin the process of looking into \GBS,but I need to have a colonoscopy now. Could anyone recommend a dr who would have experience doing  a colonoscopy on someone very overweight. Im afraid of hearing the dr complaining about my weight. Thanks

My husband and I both see Dr. Bruckstein on Hylan Blvd.  I am overweight and he helped me with my papework for WLS too.  He is compassionate and an excellent doctor.

He has done at least a half dzen colonscopies on my husband.  He did an endoscopy for me which is a presurgical requirement.  If you are planning weight loss surgery adn also need a colonoscopy, he can do both the endoscopy and colonoscopy.  He really is a very caring doctor---he always calls in the evening after the procedure to see how  we are feeling!  Nice staff too!

Oh yes he has an anesthesiologist with him!  The anesthesia was a breeze for both of us.  I know some people go  to the hospital for a colonoscopies but my husband's were all done in the office.  Not sure if that is the case for everyone. Staten Island is a small place so you never know where you might have seen us.  We don't  get out much and my husband has never needed a WW meeting so who knows.
