Well,

Mixed emotions....that is what I have. Mixed emotions. Why? Because something that I have worked so hard for...I am now thinking twice about. I know that I shouldn't have...and believe you me, I am paying for it today. WHY did I do it? Because I was not thinking of the big picture. UGH.I am not mad at myself, or disappointed. Remember the scene from that movie "fat camp"?? HAHA!

The kids had just overthrown the dictator facist exercise geru, and had spent the night endulging in all kinds of food and experimented in different items. The next morning, they are all sprawled out on the ground moaning and groaning from their "food binge". When asked if they learned their lesson from their bad choices, one of the kids leans up on his elbow and says 'never mix marshmallows with your pizza"... It is CLASSIC. Of course the lesson they should have learned was that they needed to take accountability of themselves and make the right food choices.
So, as I look back at my 3 day "binge"...and as I complain at how yucky I feel, I can't help but think of that kid leaning up on his elbow covered in cheese and hot fudge and laugh.  NO I did not have cheese wiz and hot fudge, but I did have chocolate (lots of it), pizza, long John Silvers, and a day of "grazing"...I can honestly say..."Don't mix marshmallows with your pizza."

Rewarding yourself should always be done in moderation.

So are you saying your fear resulted in an emotional eating way of coping? We are human of course, this is a turning point perhaps to learn from and look at and move forward which is imperative IMHO to longterm success w/ or w/o WLS...Perhaps more work is needed for you on this piece of the journey? It certainly doessn't get easier. The last supper syndrom is common...You are right all things in moderation and perhaps knowing that surgeons will and do cancel surgeries if pt regains can help control this mindset? But even more so than the wt is your health to get off the table, if that liver is enlarged/fatty due to eating in a certain way vs leaner the risks ar higher. Whatever can help, not to shame or guilt just be present and keep on going! Jamie

Believe you me....I am DONE. That pizza didn't even taste good. Neither did the fast food. The Chocolate did...but that is cause it is loaded in that feel good stuff. I am all set. I jump started my diet yesterday. I am back on task. Now to hit the gym.
