I'm so excited!!!
I met with Dr. Dunnican on Monday and got my date, 4/21/08. My husband became very sick that afternoon and ended up in the hospital later in the week. I've been very distracted with worrying about him. Today I brought him home from the hospital and in my mail box is the approval letter from my insurance.
I keep trying to convinice myself that this is really happening, but it's very hard. I'm sure something is going to go wrong and I won't be able to have my surgery. Seeing it in writing from the insurance company was definately exciting. Maybe this will happen after all.

Cece,
Thank you. I'm working on those positive thoughts. I positively want to do this, I positively don't want to be fat any longer, I positively want to be healthy and more active and to be able to keep up with my two grandsons.
More then anything I want to enjoy life. I'm 43 and feeling like 83. I know this is just the beginning but I'm lucky that I have a supportive husband and supportive children. I've been starting to make notes/journal times when I'm finding it hard to avoid food especially the bad choices. I have an appointment with my counselor on Monday. I'll be talking to her about these issues and looking for ways to work with these problems even before my surgery. With all of this to do I'm sure I'll wake up and tomorrow will be 4/21.

Dominique,
It WILL be here before you know it. And it definately helps to have the support of your family.
I know what you mean about being afraid something will happen--I keep thinking the same thing about the procedure I'm having on the 17th--like one of the doctors will get the flu!
Hope your hubby's o.k. now;
Dominique,
Sounds like you are on the right track!! A supportive family is so important!! I don't know how folks do it without them!! My family & friends have been amazing!!
We are close in age so I can relate to feeling twice my age but you will be shocked at how quickly that changes!!!! I did this to live a longer, healtheir & happier life... so if I can do it anybody can!!! Keep up the great work, you'll be there before you know it!!!
