cool0012.gif I'm a rockin' & a rollin'; I've lost 100 lbs since I was banded! I can't believe it! I cried this morning when I weighed myself. It's amazing. When I got married 22 years ago, I weighed 132. This morning I weighed 131.8. I can't believe it. Oh, I said that already. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a journey it continues to be, especially the RNY, thinking it was the magic cure. Boy, that was a rude awakening. But I'm glad it came earlier rather than later when I discovered I can eat pretty much everything. I've learned early-on that I have to use my tool.  I'm by no means done, and I don't mean those last 6 lbs.  I mean that this is a life-long commitment to a way of eating, and hopefully thinking--I'm still working on my relationship with food! I've learned some pretty valuable lessons; namely, I won't starve if I wait till my next meal, and  I've taken seriously experienced RNY'ers' advice about when to stop eating. The caveat to the first one is that if my next meal is going to be seriously delayed, I'd better eat some almonds or have a shake.   I really have to say that the support I've received and the friends I've made here have made all the difference in the world to me.  When I've slipped, you've helped me get back up, when I thought I was the only person on the planet that WLS wouldn't work for, you've told me otherwise.  I'm so grateful that we're all here for one another, and that we're a pretty nice bunch! So, does anyone know how to make a Century Club card (please??) love,

Thank you, Lisa.  I sometimes don't recognize myself when I look in the mirror, weird huh? I'm glad I don't suffer from body dismorphia (sp?),  I'm very happy with the way I look, perhaps for the first time in my life.  I guess with age, I've come to accept the imperfections and appreciate all the change.  And I'm SO much more confident in my clothes now.  I was never one of those people who could be fashionable when bigger--I know it's possible; I guess I was never willing to put forth the effort or time it required. I can't wait to see you too--I hope nothing comes in the way of either of us being at the meeting.

I know that great feeling once you go places you have not been in a while (weight numbers) or never been!  This journey is one awesome roller coaster ride for sure!  I take the good, bad and the other because my life really has changed because of the weight loss and I am never going to be THAT person again!  I wish only the best for you hun!

Thanks, Rosemary, Amy & Deb, When Hanna comes home next week (YEAH!!!), I'll have her take a new pic.  This one is about 15 lbs. old.   I also got new glasses, so I'll have to show you them, too! They STILL have hamentashen in the grocery story--I wish they'd just throw them out already! hugs,

Karen. I am so excited for you!  I can't wait until I am able to make this declaration also. I found it funny when you mentioned how supportive, since I consider you to be an extremely supportive person on this site.  I guess it all comes down to paying it forward.  Thank you for being supportive of me during this part of my journey and something so wonderful couldn't be occuring to a nicer person.  You deserve to have great things occur in your life. Hope you have a great weekend. Jim

Jim, that's so nice of you to say.   I do try to be supportive, because that's the example I was given.   Also, the fact that there's no bickering on the NY board makes it so special to me. Thank you for your good wishes; it's great to have good things to celebrate together!
