SURGEON RECOMMENDATION

I NEED TO RECOMMEND TO A FRIEND A SURGEON THAT IS ON THE EAST END OF LONG ISLAND. I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET THIS PERSON AND SHE TOLD ME OF HER FIRST VISIT, AND TOLD ME THE SURGEON ONLY DOES CUTTING(NO LAPROSCOPIC). TO ME THIS IS BARBARIC,  AND I LIVE ON THE SOUTH SHORE AND SHE WOULD HAVE TO DO A LOT OF TRAVELING.....ANY NAMES?

I know alot of people who have used Dr. Ahmad, and they absolutely love him. I know that he does do the procedure via laparoscopy. Although he is not on the east end, he is in Port Jefferson. Where does she actually live? Hi!!  I highly recommend Dr. David Buchin, he did my aunt's surgery and I he is also doing mine as well.  He does laproscopic surgery, I was really impressed because my aunt was >400lbs and her scarring is so minimal......he's amazing!!  his number is 516-233-3600 and he is at 1999 Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park......Good Luck to you both!!

Hi  I would highly recommend Dr. Paayal Mehta......she has offices in Riverhead and Patchogue. I live in Southampton, so the Riverhead office is very convenient.  She is a lovely woman, does not rush you thru appts., and is always listening.  Her staff is excellent, extremely thorough.  I am getting my Lap Band on April 16th.

hey there - I live in Southampton, too- which support group do you go to? I haven't been to one yet, but probably should BEFORE banding, right? Is your surgeon the one they call "Pinky"? I hear alot of good things( of course, AFTER I picked mine)

Yes her nickname is "Pinky".  She's the best.  I've only been to one support group and that was at the Holiday Inn Express in Riverhead.  Its where i went for my seminar, which is required but its also combined with the support group.

I used Dr. Medhat Allam.  I had the RNY on 1/10/08 at Southampton Hospital.  He has an office in Riverhead and Southampton.  Our monthly support group meets at the Hampton Bays library.  I highly recommend him.  He also did my sisters surgery over a year ago.  His phone number is (631)287-6202
