OMG!! This weekend me and my partner went out shopping because we need clothes for vacation and I desperately need clothes for work since everything is getting so big. I knew I would fit into a size 14 because my 16s were getting big. Imagine my delight when the 12s were fitting me perfectly! I couldn't believe it. I'm in a size 12 bottom and a size large top. I was ready to cry. I've never, ever been this size. I use to hate shopping and couldn't understand the appeal. Now I'm really going to have to keep myself in check because shopping this weekend was the best feeling in the world.

I find it miraculous that in less than 8 months I've gone from a tight size 22 to a fabulous 12. Somebody pinch me!

Good for you!!  I now know what they mean when they say you can trade one addiction for another.  I could easily become addicted to shopping, lol!!

Congratulations, Rachelle.  I know exactly how you feel!  I almost started crying in Bolton's the other week.    I now own 5 skirts, 2 jackets, 2 shruggie sweaters, and some tanks.   Oh yes, a jean skirt and a raincoat,  and one interview suit that unless pinned, the skirt falls down.  Everything but the suit really fits, because it's BRAND SPANKIN' NEW!   That's my ENTIRE wardrobe!    But who gives a hoot, because WE LOOK GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe we can shop together sometime?  Seriously, is there a Bolton's near you?  They have some really nice stuff at major discounts!  But I do find that often it depends on the buyer--I love the one on 48th & Lex. I'm so happy for you, my friend, you certainly deserve to look as fabulous on the outside as you always were on the inside. luv,

Oh Karen, you are so sweet.

I'm finally starting to feel like I look "normal". I'm an average size and I'm no longer the biggest girl in the room.

I bet those few items you do have look fantastic on you!

We should definitely get together and go shopping. I don't think we have a Bolton's around, but who knows. I'll have to look. I am keeping a limited wardrobe at the moment since I'm not sure if I'll go down more sizes. I figure if I can get enough to get me through and look decent at work, I'll be ok.

It's true--I knew you were a beautiful, caring  person from the beginning. I know what you mean; this is the first time I really shopped because I figure that even with 10 lbs. to go, that's easily taken in.   I was wearing clothes to work that were first taken in, then safety-pinned.  The tops always looked ok even if a little big, but it's hard to get away with on skirts and I imagine on pants.  But as I'm sure you know Rachelle, it feels great to wear something that actually fits!  You will be in the single digits in no time, then WATCH OUT! BYW, tomorrow I must get shoes to go with these great outfits--but I'll try to limit to 2 pair.

Reminds me of a comedian I saw on TV once... I forget who it was. talking about the difference between men and women, specifically when it comes to shopping: You see, it goes way back to the beginning of the species.  For thousands of years, with few exceptions, the women would be the gatherers collecting berries, nuts, water, etc... and the men were the hunters getting the meat to hold them through the winter. What happens today?  check out the local mall or large department store.... you see all sorts of women in front of clothing racks who might as well be wearing loin cloths and picking berries...  (in comedic fake female voice) "no, that's too ripe, wrong color, not ripe yet and will be too bitter, oh THIS one's nice, here's another, hey I wonder what berries (clothes) are over on THAT bush (rack)" now in that same mall or store, stand by the door and wait for a MAN to come in.  Here he comes now (in comedic "cave man" type voice): "need shirt, must find shirt (opens door) must find shirt.... found shirt, KILL SHIRT, take shirt home"(door opens) now I'll admit.... take that same guy to some place like Home Depot/Lowe's and that just goes out the window LOL
