NEWBIE
Hi everyone, I'm LeeAnn from the Chemung county area, I've very new to this website and thought I would say HI!! I'm in the process stage for WLS. I've had my inital consult, my 4 hour group session and my one hour visits with the dietician and SS worker, (all with in a month!) my dr is Dr. Sad (to long to write out). He is with Dr Cole & McKane's office, My physical is scheduled for next week!! 3/31 and then another dr visit is after on 4/14. I'm tooling along and hope soon to get a surgery date. I've been struggling with obesity since I was in my teen years, I have co-morbity issues such as Sleep apnea, HBP, and thyroid issues. I love this website and have learned alot from all the messages posted. I'm excited to learn more from everyone.
Nice meeting everyone :) LeeAnn
LeeAnn, Congratulations on your decision to have WLS and welcome to the NY Forum. The people here are wonderful! All of the consultations prior to surgery are a bit overwhelming at times, but well worth it in the end. Feel free to pick everyone's brains with questions as you move forward.
Best of luck with everything! Keep us up to date with your progress! Hugs, Lisa

Thanks everyone for making me feel at home! I'm so excited about starting this new chapter in my life. My family is 150% behind me and thats a wonderful feeling. I've been married 21 years to a great guy and have 3 daughters 20,18 and 13. They are my cheering section.
I love reading everyone's experiences with their journey with WLS, I'm going to work on getting mine wrote in the days to come. I'm a work in progress!!
Hi. I am new to posting on the site. I've been following the threads for the past couple of weeks. I met with my surgeon today and got my date; 4/21/08. I'm very excited and thought what better time to jump in and say hello. I've attended several of the support group meetings at AMC and have had the opportunity to personally ask some of you questions. I look forward to getting to know everyone.
Wow everyone, Thanks for making me so welcomed! I noticed alot of posting where they say happy re-birthday. I can actually say i can see where they are coming from, it must be great to feel alive again after so long. I know my weight keeps me from doing alot of things and feeling comfortable (IE: like sitting in a small chair at a party or function) What it must feel like to lose 1/2 yourself! It must be a wonderful feeling and I can't wait to experience all of that. I know summer is coming and to imagine having the energy to go out and rake the yard with out having to catch my breath all the time. or to mow the lawn and not feel exhausted afterwards. My reasons for having this done are quite simple...I want to live another 20 years, to see my daughters have children and to be able to have fun with my kids and grandkids with out the excess weight keeping me down.
Its great to be able to talk to others about my feelings on this. My husband and kids are wonderful and are totally behind me on this. But none of them have weight issues like me and they don't know how I feel in side. I'm so happy I found this website!!!!
