Welcome home.  Just do overdo...as soon as it hurts...stop.  The loose stools will ebb when you get to eating more solid foods.  Get your rest...and follow Dr's orders.  Keep us updated! Rosemary

Welcome home and welcome to the losers bench. The pain gets less and less every day and all I did was sip, sip, sip all day. I would sip water, than broth and when I needed a change sugar free ice pops. I'm 12 days post op and every day I'm able to get a little more in.   I just started puree and I can't really tell when I'm full, but pouchie lets me know when she's had enough.  It's not like when I use to feel full, different, but I just know.

Joy, Welcome home!!!! I am glad you're doing well!!! Don't worry about feeling hungry - you won't for quite some time... you'll have to make yourself eat when the time comes!! I am still shocked by that!!! I think my first week home all I did was drink water, sleep & walk!!! I just sipped all the time I was awake... I didn't want much else & my dr said that was just fine!!! The gas pains will ease up & walking helped me quite a bit!! The stools will improve too once you start with pureed or soft foods!! Take it easy & remember not to overdo it!!! Good Luck!! Cece

Joy, Welcome to the loser's bench! I had loose stool for a few weeks post-op but then it dissappered suddenly. Once you start on some more solids, it will help. As far as liquids, just keep sipping all day long. Try to get in as much as you can tolerate. You will get used to the feeling and eventually will be able to tell if your full.  Try to take it easy and don't overdo it. You will feel better each day and before you know it this will all be a memory. Congratulations on becoming a loser! Hugs, Lisa
