Live for Tomorrow, and forgetting about today

Good Morning Peoples, This past week has been eventful for me, and yet rather successful in numerical terms. I lost 4 pounds since last Wed, and I am praying i kept it off.  Been working at balancing my hunger with proper water consumption, and not intoxicating myself. I haven't made it to the gym, but have been active here, there, and everywhere. Yesterday, I officiated a funeral for a man who was brother to a man who comes to the church. He peacefully passed away in his sleep unexpectedly. He never went to the doctor, and he was reportedly, never sick. According to the autopsy he had an enlarged heart. If he HAD sought help, he could have lived many more years. Sadly, he did not see the need to seek help or to ever go to the doctor. I was talking to some people about wls and they were interested in it until they found out that they would have to forfeit certain things. "Oh, I could never live without my beer!" "Well, forget that, if I have to quit smoking..." "I have to have a mental health clearance?" What they are saying is "I want it but I don't want to change my lifestyle." They are saying "I want to live for Tomorrow and not take care of Today" I know that I find myself looking ahead and forgetting about enjoying today. It is a good day. Despite weather or even the political situation, or the war, or sickness...blah blah blah. We should live today to its fullest. We are not sure if tomorrow will come for us. Live today like it is our last.  Are there relationships that need mending? Are there priorities that you have put off? Maybe you have to get back on track.....let's tackle them TODAY.... Have a good weekend.

Tim:
I was hoping you would continue posting your weekly thoughts!

Thank you for this topic, it has been ever present in my mind the past few years. Learning to be aware and fully present in the here and now is by no means an easy task but when I am able I find it the BEST way to live! (err the only way!)

I agree for myself tending to look at the past and dwell or obsess and ruminate on the future is a common defense mechanism that is fear based.

Being aware and present takes practice but with time and practice it can be accomplished! Meditation and prayer for myself help as does relaxation, exercise, journaling etc.

Here is to a very present focused week!

My goal is to be present in body, mind & spirit today as I know all that I seek is within me. My focus is on my breath today as I fully love accept myself as I am in the moment!
