Hi all on this gloomy Saturday. Yucko! Most of us probably saved at least one of our largest size pair of pants in order to compare our progress when/if we reach goal weight. I was wondering how many of save the next size up from what you are now. ( If you are a size 12, do you save the size 14 just in case?)  I was cleaning out my closet wondering if keeping them for safety is a kind of defeatist attitude..............so I taking them to Good Will. What do you do?

I only saved the sweat pants I wore to the hospital the morning of surgery. And I'm NOT keeping anything other than those pants that I don't fit into, if they are too big away they go.

201 pounds lost since surgery!! And I'm 2 1/2 inches taller too!!

And YES I still eat Carbs and Fats but I know what portion control is!!

Surgery Date: 6/5/07

I did in the begining save alot of my clothes in fear that i would need them again.  But as the journey progressed and more and more weight came off i finally woke up and realized that i would never allow myself to go there again and gave them away...

Penny, you actually did me a favor with this post. I was going to toss everything; now I have hernia repair surgery scheduled for 4/17.  I pulled out a few pair of granny underwear and too-big skirts--I'll have to wear a binder and who knows what I'll be able to wear over it. After that, everything goes!  I don't think it's a good idea to keep "just in case clothes! hugs,

It's funny you posted on this subject.  I was just thinking the same thing.  Why am I saving pants that are too big.  It's an old habit!!  I am going to give them away.  I decided since I have had to change most of my life since surgery, that includes the old clothes habit too!  Out with anything too big!!  No more thinking, "just in case".

Thanks for the responses. You guys are so great.  Here's to a year of unloading "just in case" clothes to Good Will.  Yikes! It's a big step for me.
