Plastics

As a newbie, I've been reading the various posts for several days now. I see "plastics" is mentioned quite a bit by many who've successfully (congratulations to you all!!) lossed over 100+. Is this a common need? Does it have to do with the speed of the weight loss? Thanks for your advice.

Welcome!!! How much sagging skin you're going to have is purely individual. It depends on length of time being obese & how obese you were... how stretched out your skin is & how much elasticity it still has. There are no magic tricks, creams or potions that will guarantee you won't need it... if your skin is damaged from being stretched it's not coming back... no matter how much exercise you do or how much water you drink - these things help but I think age & genetics play a huge role in it too. I have resolved myself to the fact that I am going to need plastics & the idea of the surgery scares me but I am not going to go through all of this to be left with a body I am not proud of!! I am working hard & want the outside to match my inside!!! Don't let the idea of plastic surgery sway your decision... I did 3 yrs ago & now that I've had wls & lost alomst 130lbs I refuse to let that fear stand in my way!!! Good Luck!!! Cece

Cece, Thanks!!  This is what I thought but needed to hear it from someone. Let me share, I just received word on the actual date for my Lap band surgery. April 1st.  Whoo, boy I hope it's not a prank ;-) Can I ask which surgery you had??  I've been seeing pictures and post here but it seems the majority are RYN vs. Lap.  Thanks again, K.
