Life truly is good!!!!

I cannot believe how great life has become since starting this journey!! It's been almost a year since I joined this site & talked with my PCP about having the surgery!!! Who knew things could change for the good so quickly?!! The last 5 1/2yrs of my life were filled with a lot of sadness & I won't say I had given up hope but I wasn't looking forward to what tomorrow would bring!!! OMG - how things have changed!!!!  I have lost almost 129lbs since the end of July... who does that???!!!!! It is like I have gotten a new lease on life!!! I look forward to every day & I can't wait to see what dreams I've had buried for years actually get to come true!!! I went to a surprise bday party for my BIL yesterday - it was at a cool bowling alley/arcade/sports bar in Milford, Ma & I had a blast!!! In days past I would have sat on my fat butt & jus****ched... not this time!! I bowled, I played pool, I ran around with my almost 4 yr old niece - yup, I said ran!!! Even she noticed how much "fun" Aunt TeTe was now that her tummy ache was better!! (yes, that's how my sister explained my surgery to her... I had a bad tummy ache that the dr had to fix!) She is thrilled to death to be able to sit on my lap again... hell, I am just thrilled to HAVE a lap again!!! (just wait until after plastics!!) I felt bad for my bro though - he is heavy too & won't ever consider surgery as an option & that's fine - I'd never pu**** on him - he can see for himself how it works & what the ups & downs of it are but I saw the old me in him yesterday. He just sat around & watched & didn't participate in the bowling - not even helping the kids push the balls down the alley. He commented on the ride home how he needed to do something - he had lost 140lbs a few yrs ago at LA Weightloss & looked amazing & more importantly felt amazing!!! He got tons of compliments & I know how much that does for one's pysche. I pray for him that he gets what he needs inside to do that amazing work again!!! I convinced him to go back to his PCP & get a physical & make sure everything is ok (I am sure his bp is high again)! He is even going out today to buy an exercise bike (I hope he does cus if it's in his house he will use it!!). I just hope my changes will prompt him to get back on track again... he's too cool to be this way!!   If anyone out there is lurking & reads this & is wondering if this can work for them... trust me it can!!! If I can do this & have the amazing life I am having again anybody can!!! Thank you all for all of the support you have given me over the last year... I couldn't have done it without you!!!  Cece

Cece,

Congrats to you!!!!  Be proud of wha tyou have done and accomplished!   Amazing how things are so different, can only imagine as I am at the beginning of the journey, but if losing what I have lost so far feels this good cannot imagine what losing 129 feels like!!

It is not the easy way out that is for sure, but with determination and making the lifestyle changes it works!

Be proud of what you have done - CONGRATS!!!!

Michelle...

Dear Cece, You've done an amazing job, and you are certainly as much of a support to others as they are to you.  You are truly a good friend and an inspiration.  You have a lot to be proud of, and I'm so glad you're enjoying life again. hugs,
