I took 3 weeks off from work. I work as a unit coordinator in a very busy PACU, so I'm up and down from my desk. I was glad I took 3 weeks it was just the right amount of time. But I also want to mention that I did go back to school 1 week post-op. It wasn't so hard sitting in a lecture for 2 hours, but I don't think I could have lasted any longer then that.

I was out of work just 2 weeks. I was tired the first few days back but otherwise it wasn't bad. Good luck & remember not to overdo it!! (I had to remind myself of that often!!) Cece

Yes, this is very individual ... I'd plan for 2 weeks. I am a stay at home mom and was feeling fine pretty quick. I was out and about 6 days later - not feeling at all like I had major surgery!  hugs, Britt

Well, everyone is definately different.  I had surgery Jan. 2nd and I was back at work Jan. 7.  So I took off work for 3 days and then it was Saturday and Sunday.  So I was out really 5 days.  I felt great!  Just walk ALOT at the hospital and the gas pain will not come and you will recover very quickly.  I got out of surgery and went for a walk almost every 2 hours.  I came back to work and I have a desk job and sitting for 8 hours was ok for me. Yes, I am nuts...that is what everyone said but I was really ok so why take more time.  It depends on how you feel and when you are ready but I think 2  weeks is definatly a good amount of time.

I was out 3 weeks. I intended to go back after 2 weeks, but I was much too tired.

Thank you so much everyone for your feedback. I am hoping that 2 weeks will be ok but like you said I will take my time with it and make sure that I am doing well first. Thanks .. and I will keep you all posted.

Ahoy, I had my surgery on  Wednesday February 20 and was back at work that Monday February 25.  I have  the opportunity to sit as often as I like.  My recovery was fantastic.  Being back at work so quickly really helped with structuring my day.  I also plan to go to Miami this month so I wanted to save the sick days.
