Well, I started my liquid diet today and as I sit here sharing with all of you I'm drinking the first of many protein shakes. 16oz skim milk with one packet of sf Carnation instant breakfast and 1 packet unjury chocolate.   Not bad at all. I should have had a shake for breakfast, but I just had a cup of coffee. (1/2 decaf, 1/2 regular sweetend with splenda caramel sweetner). I work way to close to a starbucks so I had a decaf skinny caramel latte at break time. For dinner planning on cream of tomato soup made with skim milk. Water after my protein shake, water with dinner and water before bedtime (aprox 70 oz for the day). I also take my vitamins and medication before bed.  I guess I feel like I want to be accountible so I'm posting.  I'm trying not to dred this phase in my journey. I understand the reason for it, anddon't want it to be a horrible experience.  I also took my before pics this morning. Will post them as soon as I can edit them a bit. I'm in my work uniform and I don't want the emblems posted on OH.

Hi Jane, I missed you guys to. I had all intentions in attending the meeting and I just forgot.  When I got home from work at 9:30 at night, I remebered.  I will definately be at the next meeting (DH will bring me) as long as all goes well with the surgery.  I have all the confidence in the world in Dr. Cussatti. And thank you so much for the support, If I have and questions or start to freak I will be sure to PM you.

Deedums!
Hello, I think it is a fantastic idea to post here for accountability and support! So your surgery is getting close do you have a specific plan to follow or any liquid is fine? Is it similar to postop? Just curious. (*I'd be cautious about this am shake for instance the milk alone 'may' cause issues if you can not tolerate lactose, and the grams of sugar is significant and could lead to dumping/carb cravings/hunger in some, and protein is typically limited to 30g absorbable at a time for people (Total cal 350, 42 grams carbs, 0 fat, 40 gr protein)
www.fitday.com is another good site to post food to get totals for a day leading into postop life! It is free as well. Perhaps skip the CIB it is only 4 gr protein for 70 cal/12g carbs, or reduce milk to 1 cup and use 1 cup water..just suggestions, usually the goal preop is develop habits but also to reduce carbs and focus on protein to shrink the liver/wt loss to ease surgery and assist recovery/healing! Can't wait to see pictures!

Sounds as if you are working on getting into the lifestyle slowly with the decaf etc good for you!

Thank you so much for the support. My pre-op liquid diet is full liquids for 5 days including SF pudding, cream soups, skim milk, SF jello, low sugar, low fat Ice cream, decaf coffee and decaf tea. Than clear liquids for 2 days prior to surgery.  After reading your post, I decided to go out and buy soymilk and try some of Eggface's protein shake recipes. Most call for 4oz soy milk and 4oz water.  I have also purchased protein samples from Unjury and Vitalady including unflavored to put in my clear liquids post op. I also took before pics in my undies, but don't have the courage to post those on OH. (Not Yet).  Surgery is Monday March 3rd, so I'll have time to edit those pics when I get home next week.
