A number I haven't seen in 22 years! (long post)
I can't believe it--I weigh in the 130's! I haven't weighed this little since right after I got married (I married at 132 and quickly went up from there.)
As many of you know, my weight loss has been slow, and recently I have been grazing...not necessarily on "Bad" foods, but definately not the 3 meals I'm supposed to be on. I made poor choices on my recent endless business trip.
I read about the 5day pouch test on the main board, checked it out at livingafterwls.com and did it this past week. the goal of the 5dpt is to break the carb-addiction cycle, and a by-product of the 5 days is that many people lose weight. So I did it, it wasn't hard at all--it's basically a mini-version of the initial eating steps after wls--liquids to soft protein to hard protein.
Day 5 is basically 3 protein meals. Day 6 is forever--the way we're supposed to eat.
After completing the 5 days on friday, yesterday I had 3 meals & reintroduced complex carbs, flax, berries & green beans, after my protein, which we're supposed to anyway, right? It's got to be that simple for me.
I'm not here advertising the 5dpt--it is just a tool that some people use to get back on track and it worked for me. I was getting really lazy, totally depressed about my job situation, and this was something that helped me. No, it didn't help with the job, but you know what, I had a REALLY bad week job-wise, and I learned that I didn't have to eat over it.
The most important thing I learned is that I have to do better w/the meal prep--
I have to start TODAY cooking more for the week. Observing kosher dietary rules means that I can't always grab food on the fly--there certainly isn't a kosher restaurant on every corner. Basically, I have to take the time to take care of ME.
SOO, I am now using my tool better, I have the ability to exercise for 30 minutes on my elliptical (remember when I thought I would pass out after 4 min.?) and I have regained the confidence that I WILL get to goal.
Everyone here is a tremendous support to me--I can't do it alone, that's for sure!
Love,
